Overview
DocuResume ("we", "us", "our") operates https://docuresume.xyz and the DocuResume Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use DocuResume.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: information you provide, information generated by your use of the product, and information from third-party sign-in or payment providers.
- Account data — email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in (including Google sign-in via Firebase Authentication).
- Profile and resume data — work history, education, skills, summaries, cover letters, academic CV sections, profile photos you upload, and career preferences you enter in the composer.
- Uploaded files — PDF, DOCX, and other resume files you import, stored in your private archive.
- Job search data — saved roles, pipeline stages, match scores, tailored drafts, and notes you store in your dashboard.
- Usage and quota data — which AI features you use (scoring, matching, tailoring, parsing) and monthly limits associated with your plan.
- Billing data — subscription plan, Stripe customer ID, and payment status. We do not store full credit card numbers; Stripe processes payments.
- Extension activity — when you use the Chrome extension, job page text and form fields on sites you visit may be sent to our API to compute match scores, suggest autofill values, or save a role to your tracker. This happens only when you interact with the extension on a supported page.
- Technical data — browser type, device information, IP address, and analytics events collected through Google Ads conversion tagging.
How we use your information
We use your information to operate, improve, and secure DocuResume:
- Provide resume building, CV export, job matching, AI tailoring, and application tracking features.
- Run AI-assisted analysis using Google Gemini when you request scoring, rewriting, parsing, or similar features.
- Match roles to your profile and surface direct employer listings from our JobHive job engine.
- Sync your profile with the Chrome extension for autofill on supported applicant tracking systems.
- Process subscriptions and enforce plan quotas through Stripe.
- Send service-related communications (for example, billing receipts from Stripe).
- Monitor performance, debug issues, and protect against abuse.
How we store and protect data
Your account profile, applications, billing summary, and uploaded CV files are stored in Google Cloud Storage under your user ID. Authentication is handled by Firebase.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to production storage is restricted to our application services. You can delete individual uploaded CV files from your library and remove profile content at any time through the app.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted processors to deliver the product. These providers only receive data needed for their function:
- Google — Firebase Authentication, Google Cloud Storage, and Gemini AI.
- Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
- JobHive open dataset — employer career-page listings ingested for job market and salary features.
- Elsevier Scopus — optional academic publication import when you connect a Scopus author ID (server-side API key only).
- Google Ads — conversion and analytics tagging on our website.
- Applicant tracking system websites — the Chrome extension reads page content only on sites you open; we do not control those third-party privacy practices.
AI processing
When you use AI features, relevant portions of your profile, resume text, or job descriptions may be sent to Google Gemini to generate scores, suggestions, or rewrites.
Do not submit information you are not permitted to share. AI output may be inaccurate — review all suggestions before submitting applications.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication sessions (via Firebase) and Google Ads conversion measurement.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit sign-in or certain features.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms.
If you delete files from your CV library, we remove them from storage. You can delete your account from Account settings, which removes profile data, CV files, and your sign-in.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. To exercise these rights, use our contact form.
- Update profile and resume content directly in the composer.
- Delete uploaded CV sources from your library.
- Manage or cancel paid plans from Account → Billing (processed through Stripe).
- Uninstall the Chrome extension to stop page-level data collection from your browser.
Children
DocuResume is intended for job seekers aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
International users
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. By using DocuResume, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
