Job interview questions — and how to answer "Tell me about yourself"

Prepare for common interview questions with stories already in your pipeline dossier.

Your best interview answers are compressed versions of bullets you already proved on paper.

"Tell me about yourself" is not biography — it is a 90-second pitch: present role, relevant win, why this job. Use the same outcome language as your resume summary so the panel hears one consistent story.

Behavioral questions (conflict, failure, leadership) need STAR structure: situation, task, action, result. Pull from bullets you tailored for this employer — the pipeline saves JD and CV snapshots at apply time for exactly this prep.

Common interview questions to rehearse

Why this company? Why leaving? Greatest strength and weakness — with a weakness you are actively improving. Where in five years? Describe a time you influenced without authority.

Technical and case interviews need a different prep lane — whiteboard practice, not STAR. Tag the role type in your pipeline so you know which prep mode to use.

After the interview

Update pipeline stage to interview. Note questions you struggled with — they become tailor targets for the next round or the next application. DocuResume aggregates outcomes over time so you see which title families convert.
